Would you like to learn about the rationale, philosophy and application of the mitzvot? Do you ever feel like the mitzvot seem to be a random jumble of laws that don’t seem to have a unifying principle?
Please join Rabbi Yitzi Weiner for an important series that discusses the meaning, philosophy, and application of all of the mitzvot that can be observed today, and how they are all part of a system to help refine our character and help to perfect the world.
At each class, a mitzva will be explored, along with an explanation regarding how it can be applied, what lessons we can learn from it, and how it helps to refine our character.

This interactive discussion will be moderated by Rabbi Yitzi & Chaya Weiner and will meet at Starbucks every other Sunday evening. Each participant will receive a free coffee of their choice.
Topics to be covered include, dating, looks, music, movies, celebrities, and the environment.

DESCRIPTION: Today’s technology is simply amazing. A tablet computer or smartphone can provide access to millions of sources of information, media and entertainment. In the process, these new devices have also facilitated the process of learning Torah, and have greatly increased its accessibility.
Please join us for a new initiative to study Talmud with the Artscroll Talmud app for the iPad. This app makes the experience of learning Talmud much simpler and more enjoyable. This year we will study the gemara Shabbat, led by Rabbi Yitzi Weiner. This gemara will provide a deeper framework to understand the underlying motifs and laws behind our observance of Shabbat.
Use of the ipad is optional. If you do not have an ipad, you can easily follow along with paper copies.
We will have the class on the following dates:

Please join Rabbi Yitzi Weiner for a new weekly series on Pirkei Avot. A wide assortment of commentaries will be used, but particular emphasis will be placed on the incisive and inspiring commentaries of Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch and the Sfas Emes.

We have all faced moral dilemmas in our lives; situations were we felt torn between two compelling moral choices.
How does one resolve a moral dilemma? How does one weigh which value should supersede?
Please join Rabbi Yitzi Weiner for a look at very interesting moral dilemmas portrayed in film and television, and at some classical Jewish texts for approaches regarding how to resolve them. Each class will feature a video clip that illustrates a compelling moral dilemma, as well as an interactive study of Jewish a text that addresses the question. This series will provide a general framework for a Jewish approach to making choices between two compelling moral arguments.
